Snipes Accounting and Tax Service began as C&S Income Tax Service in 1961 by Ann Snipes and family friend, Charles Craver. By the late 1960s, Ann was the sole practitioner and the business became Ann H. Snipes Accounting and Tax Service. After her husband, Bob, retired from Western Electric, they worked together in the office until his death in 2000.
Ann’s primary focus was on individual income tax preparation and small corporate bookkeeping and filing. She built a practice of hundreds of clients whom she built relationships with, grew to know their families, and looked forward to seeing every year. She loved her work, and continued to see clients and work until her death in March 2023 at age 91.
Jayson Snipes, EA, (Ann’s grandson) joined the practice in 2017. Jayson grew up around the business and helped maintain the computer systems after the death of his grandfather. He vowed he would have no interest in tax and accounting – setting out on a career in education. As life and luck would have it, he left teaching to work with and learn from Ann. Hoping to move the business to the next level, he completed the Master of Accounting degree from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. In 2025, he completed the three-part Special Enrollment Examination to become an Enrolled Agent.
Our practice was built on personal service – Jayson looks forward to continuing Ann’s legacy and providing leadership to clients as they navigate their personal and business tax needs.
